PNEUMONIA You visited my mom in ‘51 You terrified her She told of how she lay there whimpering shivering gasping for breath burning with fever contracting with pains working to give life to her second set of twins praying to God to survive the ordeal Her only desire …… to return home to her first set of twins you were kind to her, to all of us you let her come home When you visited her in ‘54 She was not so terrified She knew she had survived your clutches before Besides, this time she was contracting with only one precious baby She trusted God to return her home to her loving husband and her growing brood of young children you were kind to her, to all of us you let her come home Your final visit …… April 29th, 2004 exactly 53 years later She recognizes you as an old friend now She knows you will not give her more than she can bear She trusts you We pray to God to deliver her from this ordeal Her work here is finished She has done an extraordinary job She deserves more now you take her quickly, painlessly you show her the way to everlasting peace you were kind to her, to all of us you let her go home Susie Rivard May 4, 2004
